The Complete Guide to Contact Lens Care and Storage
The world of vision accessories is divided into 2 types of people:
those who wear glasses and those who wear contact lenses.
We'll save the debate about which accessory is a better and more convenient solution for another time,
and focus this time specifically on contact lens wearers.
Contact lenses can open up a whole new world for you - a world of sharp vision, comfort and confidence.
They're also an excellent solution for those who want to see more clearly and sharply, without committing to glasses.
There are many types of lenses available today, suitable for different needs and preferences.
You can find daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly lenses, and lenses designed to correct myopia, hyperopia and more.
But just like glasses, contact lenses also need to be cleaned, stored and inserted properly
to get the best results.
So how do you take care of your contact lenses?
1. Wash your hands before any contact with your eyes or the lens.
Yes, even if you're really in a hurry. Bacteria are not friends of your eyes.
2. You must clean the lenses with a special manufacturer's solution,
every day after use - unless it's a disposable lens.
Not water, not saliva, only solution approved by an eye doctor.
Regular daily cleaning and disinfection will reduce the amount of bacteria in the lens by 90%.
3. Place the lens on a clean palm,
drop solution on it and gently rub both sides.
Show it some love, but don't overdo it.
20 seconds will be enough.
4. Contact lenses also deserve a warm home.
Let them rest in a clean, rigid and sealed case with fresh solution.
5. Right and left - don't get confused!
Just like couples have their fixed side of the bed, each lens has its fixed place in the case, so there will always be R/L written on the lid, so we don't get confused.
Be careful not to mix them up.
6. Keep the case clean.
After removing the lenses from the case, empty it of the solution in which the lenses were soaked,
wash thoroughly with disinfecting solution, and air dry.
It's recommended to replace the case every 3 months, or even sooner.
That's it! Now your lenses are approved and healthy,
and you're ready to conquer the world with excellent vision.
