7 Simple Habits for Healthier Eyes

Did you know that our eyes are working harder than ever before?

Between screen viewing, reading, driving and working, they're required to focus for long hours without a break.

No wonder more and more people suffer from eye problems like dryness, fatigue and wrinkles around the eye.

But don't worry, because there are some simple things you can do

to maintain eye health and improve your vision.

Did you know? 🔍

The average person blinks 15-20 times per minute, while screen viewing causes us to blink

only 5-10 times, which can cause dry eyes.

Here are 7 simple habits that will help you maintain healthy eyes:

1. Give your eyes a rest:

Our eyes need rest from time to time. If you're sitting in front of a screen, every 20-30 minutes give your eyes a 20-30 second break and look into the distance.

This will help relax the eye muscles, reduce fatigue and prevent dryness.

2. Blink frequently:

When we're focused on a screen, we tend to blink less, and this causes dry eyes. Remember to blink frequently to maintain eye moisture.

3. Use eye drops:

If you suffer from dry eyes, eye drops can relieve the symptoms. Choose preservative-free eye drops.

4. Pay attention to lighting:

Reading or working in poor lighting tires the eyes.

Make sure the room lighting is adequate, and avoid reading or working in a dark room. You can also activate "night mode" on your smartphone when viewing screens in the evening and night hours.

5. Eat healthy food:

To maintain healthy eyes,

eat foods rich in vitamins A, C and E, which are important for eye health.

Eat green vegetables and fruits, fish, nuts and seeds, and drink plenty of water.

6. Wear sunglasses:

Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) sun rays without protection can cause eye diseases like cataracts, glaucoma and more. Make sure to wear quality sunglasses every time you leave the house when the sun is shining.

7. Go for regular eye exams:

Periodic eye examinations are important for early detection of eye problems. It's recommended to be examined by an eye doctor at least once a year, even if you don't feel any problem.

✍️ In summary

These tips are simple to implement and can make a big difference.

Take care of your eye health and enjoy good vision for years to come!
